What can I say about the poems, or maybe it is better to comment on the theme of Truth? I have explored in my writing since a schoolgirl who kept things hidden from classmates how to be truthful without revealing too much. I have also wanted to live my life with honesty and integrity; and of course, I have disappointed myself more times than I would like to remember. Having said that, I once took a lie detector test in order to qualify for a job. The administrator who recommended me for the job said that I was pronounced “squeaky clean.” I think I was asked the wrong questions. For me, the act of writing is a way to get closer to the truth, a way of living my life with as much honesty as I can.
Each of your carefully curated words
chosen to achieve your objective,
your irresistible lies pretty little demons
cluttering up the once pristine sheet.
If, in your passion, any sentence
threatens to expose you, or gets too close
to the real truth, hit the delete key, and begin again.

Very interesting poem, Robin. A little shocking. Just enough. I love what you wrote about your intentions in writing. I share your goal of finding out the truth. Keep on!
