A full generation has passed
When I hear your voice
Swirled in a turn of phrase
The way you turn a phrase
In upon itself:
High mineral content
A certain degree of lightness
And agility
Subtle overtones of peony
A touch of pleasant tension
Yet approachable in its evolved structure
And I fall into it
As I fell into it
A full generation ago
The complex notes of your song
Dancing against the swill.
