Carter McKenzie
Carter McKenzie is the author of the chapbook Naming Departure and a book of poetry Out of Refusal. Her poems have appeared in many journals (most recently Turtle Island Quarterly) and she teaches creative writing workshops for after-school programs, artist residencies, and summer literature camp sessions. A founder and director on the board of the poetry collective Airlie Press and co-coordinator of the Springfield Library Poetry Reading Series, Carter is an active member of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ).
